Collection: F.R.O
Deface was born out of the UK dance scene. This was a manifestation driven by the frustration of rising unemployment and the systemic destruction of communities. The glaringly obvious distain from the powers that be was there for all to observe.
Our culture was so alien and unimaginable to said powers, it created rhetoric that demonised anything or anybody who dared to be “different” from the “norm”. There was even a feeble attempt to describe and categorise dance music ( see criminal justice and public order act bill 1994).
No matter if it has been house, techno, rock and roll, blues, jazz, rockabilly. Youth and music culture will and has ALWAYS found a way through an expression of essential rebellion.
