Top Summer Fits: The FORTY Summer Edit
Harry MillerShare
Summer in Glasgow looks like rain followed by sunshine followed by rain. A festival weekend that lands hot. A trip away where the weather works with you instead of against you.
The pieces we reach for change with it. A tee that works in a club and at a beach. A short that goes from morning to night without thinking. Tech that holds up when the day goes sideways.
These are the top summer fits from the FORTY collection. Five pieces our community comes back to. Built for Scottish summer, ready for whatever the weather does next.
What makes a good summer fit?
A summer fit has three jobs.
It has to handle the weather. UK summer is not one thing. Glasgow can land you a 24-degree afternoon and a 12-degree evening in the same day. Layers help. Breathable fabric helps more.
It has to work across the day. Most people are not changing outfits between the pub, the fan zone, the festival, and the walk home. The right summer pieces move with you from one place to the next.
And it has to feel like you. FORTY summer is not a uniform. It is a wardrobe of pieces that work together or stand on their own. Tech where you want function. Graphic tees where you want a story. Shorts that do not look like everyone else is wearing them.
5 Top Summer Fits from FORTY
DEFACE Smiley Tee - Storm with Coral

The Smiley design has become an icon. A recognised and adopted symbol for a global rave community. The smiley face was originally designed in 1963 by Harvey Ball, a graphic designer from Massachusetts, as a morale booster for employees of an insurance company. He was paid $45 for his work.
The Smiley Deface tee uses a neon ink which brings the piece to life in UV black light. Half smiley front print and Deface branding. A classic yet striking addition to the Deface collection.
The Storm with Coral colourway pairs a grey base with a coral pop. Built for daylight, alive at night.
Storm with Coral. £65.
Tech Short Barrett - Black and Storm Grey

The tech short has found its way in and out of wardrobes all year round. The staple garment choice for whenever you need it.
95% polyamide, 5% elastane. Four-way-stretch fabric. Bungee cord waistband. Regular fit.
Two colourways for S/S 26. Black and Storm Grey. Both in a full size run.
These are the shorts you wear for the festival walk, the day at the park, and the night out. The stretch fabric holds up across all three.
£75.
Tech Goodhew Short - Charcoal

The Goodhew metallic nylon short is all about summer versatility. This piece is not just about looking the part at the pool. It was designed as part of the metallic collection and can be worn with our Benjamin reflective and Jethro overshirts.
For the days the tech short feels too heavy. For the holiday. For the beach. For the rooftop.
Charcoal. £59. Full size run.
Essential Shadow Tech SS26 Tee - Black

An understated tee, designed to be paired with our tech pants or shorts for an essential and easy to wear set. A gloss finish on the FORTY branding makes the basics more premium.
The piece that turns a Barrett tech short into a summer set. Available in three colourways for S/S 26.
Black, White and Storm. £45.
DEFACE Midland 92' Tee - Black

Everything moves in cycles. Culture, music and fashion being the most prominent.
We are witnessing the birth of a new one. The people in charge may not be doing as well as we would like.
The Arches on Midland St, Glasgow, held its first electronic music club night in 1992. Cafe Loco. The techno godfathers themselves, Slam, in the room. For generations after that, the Arches was our cultural Mecca. Now it has officially closed its doors.
This is not just the closing of a night club. It is the feeling that our culture, as relevant now as it has ever been, is being eroded in front of us.
OTC. Open to close. The phrase used for the DJs who play from the first record to the last. We thought it was apt for the story.
Black and White. £65.
How to style your summer fit
Three pairings from the edit:
The festival fit. DEFACE Smiley Tee with the Tech Short Barrett in Black. The smiley as the hero. Tech shorts that move with the crowd. Built for Saturday at a festival.
The set. Shadow Tech Tee in Black with the Tech Short Barrett in Storm Grey. Quiet confidence. Same fabric language across both pieces. The summer tech set.
The night out. DEFACE Midland 92' Tee with the Goodhew Short in Charcoal. A story tee with shorts that pick up the light. Built for a rooftop or a club.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best summer fits for festivals in 2026?
Festival fits in 2026 are built around comfort, fabric, and a strong graphic piece. We recommend the DEFACE Smiley Tee or the Midland 92' Tee for the hero piece, with the Tech Short Barrett underneath. The stretch fabric handles long days, and the graphic tees do the talking.
What fabric works best for UK summer?
Lightweight cotton for tees. Four-way-stretch polyamide for shorts. Both breathe and recover well. Avoid anything heavy or non-breathable for festival days or long walks.
Does FORTY do summer sets?
The Shadow Tech Tee and Tech Short Barrett work as a tech set, both built around the same FORTY tech language. For a softer set, pair a DEFACE graphic tee with the Goodhew Short.
How long does delivery take?
Free UK delivery on orders over £50. Standard delivery 2-3 days. Next-day available before 2pm Monday-Friday.
