DEFACE was born from the UK dance scene. A direct response to rising unemployment, fractured communities, and the systemic dismissal of an entire generation's culture. The smiley face you see on every DEFACE piece is more than a logo. It's the symbol of a movement that refused to be silenced.

Electronic music gave us something to hold onto. The dance floor was the great equaliser: no judgment, no barriers, just the shared energy of people from every walk of life moving to the same beat. That's what DEFACE stands for. That's what it has always stood for.
